26TEN Working Group
Project Name: Using Literacy and learning to build our Learning Community
The 26 TEN Working Group will be actively involved in increasing literacy and numeracy awareness and raising literacy and numeracy standards within the Devonport Community.
The aim of this working group is to increase the number of local business and industry people that are aware of the Live and Learn strategy and willing to support a community-wide focus on learning, specifically improving literacy and numeracy in the workplace and in preparation for work. The working group will be hosting events and activities that connect organisations and individuals together to help raise awareness of the 26 TEN programs.
The DCCI has indicated strong support for this project and will be a key partner of the project in connecting business and organisations to the 26 TEN tools and resources to help improve literacy and numeracy amongst adults within the Devonport Community.
This initiative has been made possible through a 26 TEN Community Grant.
Working group members include Devonport City Council, Devonport Library, DCCI & Devonport Community House. We are currently seeking more members for this working group and invite you to email us if you are interested in joining this working group.

Festival of Learning Working Group 2019
The Festival of Learning Working group is currently meeting to put together the program for the 2019 Festival of Learning.
The Festival of Learning (FoL) is a community initiative developed by the Live and Learn group to celebrate the importance of learning and demonstrate how many opportunities there are for learning within our community. The FoL
has been running for three years and in 2018 we had in excess of 1,864 participants and this level of participation was achieved with minimal funds and many hours of volunteers time. The final event in 2018, a community the panel that focused on the power of learning to change lives was welcomed by the community and generated considerable momentum.
Working group members include Devonport City Council, Devonport Library, UTAS, TasTAFE, East Devonport Community House, Housing Choices Tasmania. We are currently seeking more members for this working group and invite you to contact us if you are interested in joining this working group.
